A new year, a new journal

Thought I would have a new journal as I signed up to Wanderlust 2016. This was a Famous Five 2016 annual that I gutted and replaced the pages with acrylic paper. (I found the book at Home Bargains for £1) I'll use the original pages in a variety of projects.

Whimsical animals

Last weekend I went to Harrogate with friends to have afternoon tea at Rudding park. This weekend it was a very different trip = a day at Art from the Heart for a class with Tracey Scott learning to draw and paint whimsical animals. I really enjoyed the day and here are the results

More Twisted sister circle journal pages

2 circle journals arrived together so here are my pages. I posted them off today. This round of journals is nearing the end now. I think I only have one more to do.

Ministry of Mixology

A very kind friend Pauline gave me her tickets to the Ministry of Mixology weekend recently. It was a fabulous weekend, 2 full days with workshops by Andy skinner and Michelle webb. We painted and glued all  day long!
Here are my projects.

I loved both of these projects. Both of them were very 3D. Andy's project is a very useful journal however and I still find it hard to believe that we just started with some pieces of chipboard and ended up with what definitely looks like rusty metal.
So very sincere thanks to Andy, Michelle, Pauline (for the tickets) and  to Di Oliver from That's Crafty for the organisation.
I think that kits for both projects will be available from That's Crafty in the near future.

Little matchbox swap

Although this was originally a halloween swap I reinterpreted the them and chose to base my matchbox book round dragons

the journal cover was made using crushed egg shells glued with gel medium and then painted

The box to send the project in
I decided to make a dragon to send with the book using a larger matchbox. Here he is, cuddling a flame. I found the pattern on Etsy

The dragons eye on the journal cover also came from Etsy, from the Curious cogsmith

More art journaling pages

These images were just crying out to be used. The background has lots of layers - scrapbooking paper, gesso, script, Chinese script, tissue paper, acrylic paint. Then collage, doodling,  neocolours
